Morning Post for January 22, 2025

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone is doing well this week and staying warm. Its 22 degrees here in Texas. I got a little bit of work to do today, then a doctor's appointment. I haven't mentioned this yet, but about 6 or 7 months ago, I was placed on Wegovy. I weighed close to 350 pounds. I'm now down 45 pounds though my weight has been kind of stuck. I go in today for a refill and a slight up in dosage. So hopefully I can lose my next forty pounds or so in good measure.

My stomach still feels pretty big, but I've lost a lot of weight in my face and chest. I also started cutting my own hair. Partly to save  money as the cost of a men's haircut in our area is now around 25.00 to 30.00. Also because my hair would often get too shaggy and weird so I just kind of giver myself buzz cuts and taught myself how to fade. Here is a picture of me after a fresh haircut since I haven't posted any pictures yet.

I have to say, there is something good about self esteem after cutting your own hair. I'm often really down on myself, so this was a win for me. If you're wondering about the pendant around my neck, it is a Nordic Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) with Odin's face carved onto it and the piece is made from Ox bone. I'm a Norse pagan, so this is a powerful piece for me to wear.

I have some work to catch up on and sometimes I worry myself with my legal work as I fall behind sometimes with writing the documents, and I worry the firm we contract with will get angry and stop having us do them. But I always try to work as quickly and efficiently as possible. My brain just doesn't always like to cooperate.  So I do my best and hope for the best. Sometimes, a lot of times I just get frustrated with myself.

I know this particular blog post is kind of rambling, but that is what this space is for. I have a few ideas for my longer posts floating around for later today. We'll see how they flesh out as the day goes on. My brain is kind of always on the move. The drawing attached at the top of this post is one I did this morning first thing when I woke up. I enjoy drawing weird weird faces and stretching them out into bizarre deformities.

I mentioned in a previous post how I never sold much art. A few people suggested to me doing more fan art. I had done a few drawings for fun, but I don't care to do fan art honestly. For one, its a good way to get your online shop permanently closed if the IP owner comes for you. Second, I just feel its not that original. I feel my art has something to say, even if it doesn't resonate with a tone of people. And for me, saying what I need to say is more important than selling. So here we are.
